“Operation Free and Fair 2027 is not a threat; it is a solemn promise to the Nigerian people. Nigeria will breathe again in 2027. Democracy will win. The will of the people shall prevail. Nigeria Lo Kan!”
A stern warning to the enemies of democracy: Let it be known loud and clear across the land; the note that was first written in Ibadan during Operation Wetie in 1965, that dark chapter which ignited the chain of events leading to the coup and ultimately the Nigerian Civil War, has returned with even greater force in 2027. This time, it is not written in violence, but in unyielding resolve.
The opposition political parties have met and resolved: Operation Free and Fair and Democratic General Election 2027 has begun.
In 2027, the people of Nigeria will breathe. In 2027, opposition parties will breathe. In 2027, democracy itself will breathe freely, fairly and without intimidation, rigging, or state capture.
To all enemies of democracy; those who believe power is their birthright; those who think the will of the people can be permanently suppressed; those who have turned Nigeria into a one party fiefdom, hear this warning– Your time is up.
In 2023, somebody arrogantly declared: Emi Lo Kan (It is my turn). Today, the people of Nigeria rise to reply with one voice: “Nigeria Lo Kan!” (Nigeria’s turn has come!).
No more emi lo kan”l politics.
No more selection disguised as election.
No more turning the electoral process into a coronation ceremony for the anointed few. 2027 will not be business as usual.
The forces of democracy are awake. The people are awake. History has shown repeatedly that when the people decide that enough is enough, no amount of incumbency, security agencies or financial war chest can stop the tide.
Let the enemies of free and fair elections tremble. Let those who hate democracy take note. Operation Free and Fair 2027 is not a threat; it is a solemn promise to the Nigerian people. Nigeria will breathe again in 2027. Democracy will win. The will of the people shall prevail. Nigeria Lo Kan!
2027 is the year! Let this message ring from Ibadan to Abuja; from Lagos to Maiduguri; from Port Harcourt to Kano. The note has been served. Ignore it at your own peril.
