Former Rivers PDP Chairman Disowns Fake Facebook Account
The immediate past chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Rivers State, Bro Felix Obuah, has disowned a fake Facebook account in circulation.
Obuah, who is the sole administrator, Rivers State Waste Management Agency, (RIWAMA), said he observed with dismay the continual use of the fake Facebook account bearing Felix Amaechi Obuah (Go Round).
Obuah, in a statement by his media aide, Jerry Needam, said he has observed the fake Facebook account by “faceless and mischievous person(s) for sometimes now with unholy intention to deceive and defraud unsuspecting members of the public.”
He said the person has devised a way of lifting every message posted in his name on social media and posted same on the fake Facebook account to give some originality to the fake Facebook account as a ploy to ensnare his victims into believing that the information is from him (Bro Felix Obuah).
The gimmick, he said includes fake and non-existent employment advertisement for job seekers who are also asked to reach him for details.
“The RIWAMA boss, as usual, has warned the unsuspecting members of the public to be cautious and wary of this social media thieves.
“They (members of the public) should discountenance such misleading information, aimed at nothing but to take advantage of them and dupe them.
“They should reach his office or contact the nearest police Slstation with any information that can lead to the arrest of these unscrupulous miscreants,” the statement read.
