Online news publishers in Oyo State have described the state Commissioner for Information, Prince Dotun Oyelade, as a unique professional who is accessible and swift in responding to state issues.
The publishers stated this while responding to an invitation from the commissioner in his office to appreciate them for their support for his ministry since his assumption of office last July.
Commending the online publishers, Prince Oyelade thanked them for their timely and efficient dissemination of information on the activities of the state government.
The commissioner said, though the Governor Seyi Makinde-led administration has more years to serve, the Ministry of Information will continue to leverage on the speed and competence of online publishers in the interest of the people of the state.
Prince Oyelade said the ministry has intensified efforts to make sure that all the 55 information officers in the ministry adapt to the changing media landscape and be compliant with the evolving nature of contemporary journalism in the digital age.
In his address at the meeting which was attended by the management team of the ministry, the Permanent Secretary, Dr. Taiwo Ladipo, reiterated the importance of collaboration between government and relevant stakeholders.
He further expressed high hopes in the positive outcome of the meeting between the Ministry of Information and the online publishers.
