Senator Sharafadeen Alli has extended condolences to his counterpart, Senator Abdulfatai Buhari, over the demise of his mother, Alhaja Sarat Abeje Buhari.
Alli, in a statement he personally signed on Tuesday in Ibadan, expressed sincere condolences and offered words of comfort to Senator Buhari and his family.
He said the death of Senator Buhari’s mother at age 103 signified a significant loss for her community, particularly in Ogbomoso, where her legacy of excellence and substance would be fondly remembered forever.
The senator described the late mama as a remarkable woman, blessed by God to enrich humanity, nurturing individuals like Senator Buhari and his siblings.
Alli said the loss of a mother was an irreplaceable loss, adding his thoughts and prayers were with Senator Buhari as well as his family during this difficult time.
He said he understood the pain and grief that accompanied the loss of a loved one, especially a mother who held special place in many’s hearts and lives.
The lawmaker, representing Oyo South Senatorial District, urged Senator Buhari to take solace in the fact that God giveth and taketh at will, while also remembering that mama lived a fulfilled life.
“It is a rare privilege that Allah has granted her a unique passage, peacefully departing during the sacred month of Ramadan, particularly on the final day of fasting, at the remarkable age of 103.
“The bond between a mother and her child is one of the strongest and most enduring connections in life. As you navigate this period of mourning, may you find comfort in the outpouring of condolences.
“May you also find comfort in the fact that you are surrounded by caring colleagues, friends, and well-wishers who share in this sorrow and offer support at this challenging time,” he said.
Senator Alli prayed that Almighty Allah forgive mama of her shortcomings and grant her soul Al-Jannat Firdaos.
He also prayed that Almighty Allah grant Senator Buhari, representing Oyo North Senatorial District and other members of the family the fortitude to bear them irreparable loss.
