The governors present at the meeting with Akeredolu included Engineer Seyi Makinde, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Prince Dapo Abiodun and Mr. Biodun Oyebanji of Oyo, Lagos, Ogun and Ekiti states, respectively.
The meeting dwelt on common interests and issues affecting the South-West, as Akeredolu, the Ondo State governor, harped on continuous collaborations in the region.
As contained in a release by the Chief Press Secretary to the Ondo State Governor, Richard Olatunde, the governors discussed national and other issues affecting the region and the people.
Governor Akeredolu expressed his appreciation to the other governors for their solidarity, just as the Osun State governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, was conspicuously absent at the meeting.
Oyo State governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde said the South-West Governors’ Forum is praying for Akeredolu.
He also added that the Ondo State governor has the support of all the governors in the region.
Governor Seyi Makinde had received his three governor-colleagues earlier in his office before visiting the Ondo State governor.
As stated in a press release by the Chief Press Secretary to Makinde, Sulaimon Olanrewaju, the three governors met with Makinde behind closed door.
It was afterwards that Governor Makinde and his counterparts from Lagos, Ogun and Ekiti states proceeded to the Ibadan residence of Arakunrin Rotimi Akeredolu where they equally went into another closed session.
