1925 Ibadan Tennis Club has described the nomination of Oba (Senator) Rashidi Ladoja as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland as a worthy step.
President of the Club, Dr Oladipupo Sule and his Executive Committee members, Board of Trustees, past presidents and its entire membership stated this in a congratulatory message to the Olubadan-designate.
1925 Ibadan Tennis Club, in a statement on Thursday by its Public Relations Officer, Princess (Amb) Abimbola Egbesakin-Williams JP, stated that it was happy with the choice of Oba Ladoja as the 44th Olubadan.
“We are happy in your choice and ascension, as it is a worthy one. This came after following due process, according to the laws and tradition of Ibadanland and more so at a time when our Club is celebrating its centennial year.
“We are convinced that we will gain from your fatherly guidance and invaluable contributions to the growth and development of our dear Ibadanland,” it was stated in the statement.
1925 Ibadan Tennis Club also declared that it will continue to partner with the Olubadan-designate to advance and preserve the cultural heritage of Ibadanland and its people.
“As a club deeply rooted in Ibadanland, we will continue to partner with Your Royal Majesty and the Royal Palace in advancing our collective interest and preserving the rich cultural heritage of the great town and its people,” it added.
The Club prayed for good health and longevity of life for Oba Ladoja and expressed its desire to be part of the coronation of the Olubadan-designate on 26 September, 2025.
“We pray that the Almighty God continues to give you good health, wisdom and longevity to sit on the exalted throne of your forefathers and benevolently steer the affairs of Ibadanland.
“We look forward to your coronation coming up on the 26th September, 2025 and pray for Almighty God’s protection on you before and after the day,” it added.
The President of the 1925 Ibadan Tennis Club, Dr Sule, again congratulated the Olubadan-designate.
“On behalf of the President and good people of 1925 Ibadan Tennis Club, I congratulate you and pray that peace, progress and prosperity continue to be the hallmark of your long reign.
“Ibadan a gbe wa o. Amin!!!,” he stated.
