In a remarkable display of generosity and community spirit, the initiative, executed through Iyaloja Saratu Aduke Konibaje, aimed to provide crucial financial assistance to affected traders.
Underscoring Sanusi’s commitment to the welfare of the community, among the key beneficiaries is the Araromi Gate spare parts market, which suffered extensive damage in a fire outbreak last December.
Recognising the urgent need for support, Chief Sanusi, a well-respected philanthropist, pledged substantial financial aid to help traders at the market to rebuild their businesses.
Iyaloja Saratu, known for her compassion and leadership in the market community, organised a reception at Araromi Gate Market, where she presented a generous donation of ₦4million on behalf of Chief Sanusi.
The event was attended by the market’s traditional leadership, including the baale, along with various union and association leaders, all of whom expressed their gratitude to Sanusi for his timely intervention.
Giving her address, Iyaloja Saratu emphasised the importance of resilience and hope, urging traders to rise above the challenges posed by the fire.
She noted the unfortunate delay in assistance from other quarters, including government officials, but reassured the traders that Chief Sanusi’s commitment reflected a genuine concern for their livelihoods.
In a further demonstration of his dedication to the community, Chief Sanusi’s philanthropic efforts were also extended to another market in the Akinyele area, primarily populated by Hausa traders.
Iyaloja Saratu, accompanied by local leaders, presented an additional ₦1.5million to assist traders affected by the recent fire incident at the market.
The leadership of the two markets expressed their unwavering support for Chief Sanusi’s initiatives, with many vowing to back him in his future political and leadership endeavours in Oyo State.
The traders at Araromi Gate market showered prayers upon Chief Sanusi, recognising his integrity, truthfulness, and commitment to uplift the community.
Despite the challenges they face, traders expressed the hope that more support will come their way, urging Sanusi, through the Iyaloja, to leverage his influence to secure additional assistance from government entities and other notable figures.
