Ekiti PDP Crisis: Fayose, Olujimi, Others Meet In Lagos
Stakeholders of the Ekiti State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) held a meeting in Lagos, on Tuesday, in furtherance of the truce meeting held in Abuja, two weeks ago.
The Lagos meeting, held at Providence Hotel, involved the leaders of two groups in the party, the Osoko Political Assembly (OPA) and the Repositioning Group.
In attendance at the meeting were a former governor of the state, Mr Ayodele Fayose, Senator Abiodun Olujimi, Senator Duro Faseyi, Chief Dipo Anisulowo, Otunba Oluyinka Akerele, Rt.Hon Tunji Odeyemi, Barrister Gboyega Oguntuase, Alhaji Lateef Ajijola, Hon Deji Ogunsakin and Mrs. Funmi Ogun.
The Ekiti PDP leaders resolved at the meeting as follow: “That the unity of the party in Ekiti State is sacrosanct, uncompromisable and long needed;
“That stakeholders unanimously agreed that only with true dialogue that we can achieve victory in our coming elective elections in Ekiti State;
“That we shall continually seek all avenues for peace and resolutions of all crises in the party within the ambit of the law and;
“That the journey to lasting and genuine reconciliation of the two groups have begun and continual.”
In the light of the above, it was advised that all party members and followers of the two groups should sheath their sword forthwith and desist from any attack on all the leaders in the party.
