The Ekiti State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party Presidential Campaign Committee (PDP PCC) is steadily building a viable campaign structure for the 2023 elections in the state.
Dr Sikiru Take Lawal, the Deputy Director, Religion and Cultural Committee of Ekiti PDP PCC, said this in a press release.
Lawal, a former deputy governor in the state, said the campaign structure is for the presidential, federal and state legislative elections in the state.
He commended the Ekiti PDP PCC for holding several meetings and also ensuring the take off of all committees.
He also noted the efforts of the state youth and woman leaders in sensitisation and mobilisation of youths and women in the state.
The Ekiti PDP PCC deputy director said the working relationship between the PDP and other political parties, especially the Social Democratic Party (SDP), would bring forth fruitful results.
He requested all candidates, particularly those that are yet to fully come on board, to have a rethink and join what he described as the winning train.
Dr Lawal stated further that Ekiti PDP is ready to host the PDP presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, and his deputy, Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, in an epoch-making and memorable rally in the state.
The Ekiti PDP chieftain noted that the result of the forthcoming presidential election in Ekiti State will be a pleasant surprise to members of the party and a shock to the opposition.
The PDP presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, is expected to take his campaign rally to Ekiti State ahead the 25 February elections.
Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) is among the top contenders for the presidential election.
Mr Peter Obi of the Labour Party (LP), and Dr Rabiu Kwankwaso, New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), are also among the 13 other contestants.
