Alhaji (Dr) Abdullahi Ganduje, national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has been described as a relationship leader who places robust value on people that come across him.
Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Sen Lekan Balogun CFR, Alli Okunmade II, said this when he received the former governor of Kano State at his Alarere residence, Ibadan, today.
Ganduje was given the honourary chieftaincy title of Aare Fiwajoye of Ibadanland June last year by Oba Balogun.
He was in Ibadan on a goodwill visit to the governor of Ondo State, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu SAN, who is currently recuperating in the Oyo State capital after his return from a medical trip abroad.
Oba Balogun, in a statement by his Personal Assistant (Media), said the former Kano State helmsman is living true to his honourary chieftaincy title.
He said Ganduje has been providing leadership that engages all for the development and well-being of the country and prayed that the Almighty Allah would continue to be his guide.
He said the array of political leaders from both the national, zonal and state levels that accompanied Ganduje on the trip bears eloquent testimony to his leadership style.
This “bears eloquent testimony to your all-engaging leadership style which is highly commendable and which I encourage you to remain committed to as a very rare virtue,” Olubadan said.
In his brief remark, Ganduje praised Oba Balogun for the pervading peace and tranquility in the ancient city since he became the Olubadan.
The APC national chairman stressed: “As much as anybody can see, we have identified Your Imperial Majesty as the leader of all.
“Your Imperial Majesty is not attached to any political party and, as a good manager of diversity, you are highly respected by all political parties and leaders.
“I thank you immensely for the chieftaincy titles bestowed on me and my wife. We cherish them and we will continue to cherish them as we, on daily basis, strive to manifest them in our deeds and actions,” he added.
Ganduje disclosed that he paid Olubadan the visit to seek his permission to go into the metropolis for the assignments he came.
Principal among the assignments, he said, was to see Governor Rotimi Akeredolu SAN who is taking some rest in Ibadan before heading to his duty post in Akure, the Ondo State capital.
Ganduje was accompanied on the trip by the APC national secretary, Senator Suraj Bashir Ajibola; South-West zonal chairman, Hon. Isaac Kekemeke; deputy national secretary, Festus Fuanter; Archbishop Peter Ogunmuyiwa.
Also on the entourage were Oyo APC chairman, Hon. Isaac Ajiboye Omodewu; former Minister of Communication, Alhaji Abdulraheem Shittu and former Commissioner for Environment in Oyo State, Chief Lowo Obisesan.
Others were former deputy governors Moses Alake Adeyemo, Engineer Rauf Olaniyan, Alhaji Abass Lawal Garba, Nasiru Aliko Koki and Hon. Hama Alli, among others.
On ground to receive the APC chieftain and his team were Olori Olufunmilayo Balogun and some members of Olubadan Advisory Council.
They included Obas Biodun Kola-Daisi (Ashipa Olubadan), Kolawole Adegbola (Ashipa Balogun), and Hamidu Ajibade (Ekerin Olubadan).
Also present were Baba-Kekere Olubadan, Senator Kola Balogun and President-General, Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes (CCII), Mr Niyi Ajewole.
