Senator Sharafadeen Alli has described the death of Prophet Michael Ojo Olowere, popularly called Baba Olowere, as the loss of a true prophet of God.
The lawmaker representing Oyo South Senatorial District stated this in a condolence message he personally signed in reaction to the passage of the popular cleric.
Baba Olowere, to the founder of Christ Apostolic Church (CAC), Oke-Agbara, Asi Bodija, passed away on Wednesday at his Asi, Bodija residence in Ibadan.
Alli described late Olowere, the oldest prophet in the CAC family, as a deep preacher, teacher and gospel evangelist who was greatly loved by all.
“Baba Olowere was a resolute and dogged believer in God. Godly, humble, disciplined, contented and respected by all,” he said.
Alli said the late Baba Olowere was a worthy father, evangelist and popular prayer warrior who never discriminated against anyone, irrespective of religious or ethnic affiliations.
He added that the late Baba Olowere’s earthly sojourn was to the glory of God and the blessing of humanity.
“His death is a huge loss to the people of Oyo State, particularly the Christian community. He has indeed left behind a shoe too big for others to wear.
“His legacies of philanthropy, orderly behaviour, respect for fellow human beings, culture of tolerance, contentment, discipline and ability to live above board will surely outlive him.
“I have no doubt that his affectionate love for mankind, dedication to God and quintessential lifestyle will grant him eternal rest,” he said.
The lawmaker expressed condolences to his family, the CAC Worldwide and the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN).
He prayed that Almighty God grant his soul eternal rest and grant his families the fortitude to bear the irreplaceable loss.
