Senator Kola Balogun has described the death of one of his political aides, Prince Akintoye Akinyemi, as a personal and painful loss.
He said this, on Wednesday, when he paid a condolence visit to the family of the deceased at his family house at Pako, Igbo-Ora in Ibarapa Central Local Goverment Area of Oyo State.
The late Prince Akinyemi (55) was said to have died in a hospital, last Saturday, after a brief illness.
Described as an ardent and unrepentant supporter of Senator Balogun, the deceased was the coordinator of the federal lawmaker in Ibarapa zone.
As stated by his younger brother, Akintayo, the deceased, who was full of life, died within one hour when he was taken to the hospital after complaining that he could no longer breath.
Senator Balogun, representing Oyo South Senatorial District, expressed shock at the passage of the deceased.
He described the deceased as a very close aide and a good person whose sudden death was very painful.
Condoling the family of the deceased, Senator Balogun said: “Death is an inevitable end of all mortals, but the passage of Akintoye is very sad.
“I am particularly pained because we are very close. We were always in regular contact. We spoke on phone just four days before his passage.
“I have never had any cause to doubt the loyalty of Akintoye. He was loyal to me to the end and I am going to miss him.
“Akintoye has gone but I will continue to be in constant touch with your family. I have been a member of this family since 1991 when I knew his late elder brother, Lati.
“There was a discussion between Akintoye and me. I promise to fulfil the plan I have for him through his younger brother, Akintayo,” he said.
Praying for repose of the soul of the deceased and his family, Alhaji Adebayo Aruna, the Senior Legislative Aide of Senator Balogun, said God, the giver of life, has taken him back.
He emphasised the role of God in every human undertakings, noting that the eventual exit of all mortals from the earth is not without the knowledge of the Creator.
Alhaji Aruna said humans detest talking about death, but it is inevitable and admonished that humans should do things according to the fear of God.
Speaking earlier, Akintayo, the younger brother of the deceased, acknowledged that his community is still enjoying the two boreholes facilitated by Senator Balogun.
He, however, implored the federal lawmaker to immortalise the memory of his late brother by providing two more boreholes and solar-powered street lights for Ojaaba Market in the community.
