Senator Uche Ekwunife, PhD has joined others to bid farewell to the late Mrs Mary Theresa Ekemezie of Umuawulu Community in Akwa South Local Goverment Area of Anambra State.
The late Lolo Ekemezie, who died at the age of 76 years, was the mother of Chief Ifeanyi Ekemezie, a prominent community stakeholder and strong supporter of Senator Ekwunife.
The senator representing Anambra Central Senatorial District was accompanied on the condolence visit to the Ekemezie family by the vice chairman, Senate Committee on Youths and Sports, Senator Kola Balogun and Special Assistant to President Buhari on employment and job creation, Professor Tilda Ndu Mmegwa.
In her condolence message, Ekwunife noted that nothing can replace the pain of losing a mother, adding that nobody deserved to go through such an experience.
She however acknowledged that death is an inevitable end of all mortals and prayed God to console and comfort the family and grant the deceased eternal rest.
“As humans, nobody will want to lose a loved one, no matter how old the person may be. This is more especially when the dead is one’s parent.
“Indeed, nothing can replace the pain of losing a mother, and nobody deserves to go through such an experience.
“However, death is an inevitable end of all humans and we are all destined to shed mortality for immortality for one day, later or sooner.
“Our consolation is that one should strive to make a positive impact on the life of his or her people and the community while we are still here on earth.
“We are console by the fact that Mama Theresa Ekemezie lived a very good life and this can be seen in the lives of her children,” the federal lawmaker noted.
Senator Ekwunife, who is the chairman Senate Committee on Science, Technology and Innovation, on behalf of her family and the people of Anambra Central Senatorial District, extended her condolences to Chief Ifeanyi Ekemezie and all those affected by the loss.
