The late mother of Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State, Mrs Grace Akeredolu, lived an excellently worthy life that can be emulated by other women.
Nigeria’s former ambassador to The Philippines, Ambassador Yemi Farounbi OON, stated this in his condolence message to the governor of Ondo State on the passage of his mother.
The death of Mrs Grace Akeredolu was announced via a short press release earlier in the day by Richard Olatunde, the Chief Press Secretary to Governor Akeredolu.
The governor’s mother was said to have died peacefully in her sleep at the ripe age of 90 years
Ambassador Farounbi, reacting to the news of her death, said Mrs Grace Akeredolu epitomised the best qualities of Yoruba womanhood.
He further said it is a thing of joy that the late mother of the governor sired a dependable defender of the people in the person of Arakunrin Akeredolu.
The respected ace broadcaster and seasoned administrator said the late Mrs Akeredolu gave the world a thorough professional and courageous leader.
“The mother of the great Governor Akeredolu has gone.
“Mama lived an excellent and worthy life.
“And she gave the world a thorough professional, a courageous leader and dependable defender of the people, who is a chip of the old block.
“Through him, we have been able to decipher mama’s virtuous character traits.
“We send our deep condolences to Arakunrin Rotimi Akeredolu at her transition.
“We also send our congratulations to Arakunrin for surviving and being a well nurtured product of an outstanding mother who is an epitome of the best qualities of Yoruba womanhood.
“We know that her contributions to her community and the society will surely open for her the doors of heaven.
“We also know that God Almighty will always bless, guide and guard all those Mama left behind,” the respected veteran journalist stated in the message.
