A club owner and 21 other internet fraud suspects have been arrested by operatives of the Ibadan Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
Adepoju Olawale Sunday, the owner of “De Rock Club”, Ring Road, Ibadan, Oyo State and the 21 other suspected internet fraudsters were arrested in an intelligence-driven operation.
These were contained in a press release by the EFCC Head, Media and Publicity, Wilson Uwujaren, dated 31 August, 2022.
The club owner, Sunday (36) a graduate of Industrial Chemistry from Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago Iwoye, Ogun State, also runs Helpline Foundation and Special Service Global Trust (S.S.G) Limited, all in Ibadan.
He was arrested by EFCC operatives and found on him was a 2020 Range Rover HSE Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV).
The EFCC spokesperson said Sunday and the other suspects were arrested after series of surveillance and intelligence on their alleged criminal activities.
As contained in the press release, found on the suspects were incriminating documents which all pointed to a strong suspicion about their involvement in internet fraudulent acts.
The 21 other arrested suspected internet fraudsters included a couple -Aladenusi Adegboyeyega Ayodeji and Aladenusi Omowunmi Sadiat (a.k.a Bonnie and Clyde).
Also among the arrested suspects are Ajuwon Omobola Ibrahim; Ogunniyi Atilade Stephen; Bolaji Olawale Quadri; and Olajire Usthman Olamilekan.
Also arrested are Ojo Faruq Kolapo; Kajero Babatunde Sodiq; Kareem Taiwo Abiodun; Bolaji Bolarinwa Toheeb; Banjo Micheal Toyin; Clement Clemson Adeseye; Babalola Segun Samuel; Opeyemi Gbenga Omoyemi; Okesanya Seyi Matthew and Kareem Kehinde Damilola.
Others include Aledegbe Akinola Qodir; Akindele Ayodele Solomon; Adewopo Adesuyi John; Iyiola Dolapo Ridwan; and Olabosinde Hammed Adesola.
Items recovered from the arrested suspects include five cars, laptop computers, mobile phones, and incriminating documents containing false presences.
Uwujaren stated in the release that they will all be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded.
