Relegation of kings and the traditional institution is accountable for the numerous problems confronting Nigeria.
Pastor Enoch Adeboye, the General Overseer (GO) of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), made the declaration.
He said the powers of the traditional kings and the traditional institution have been tampered with.
He said this is accountable for the seemingly unending myriads of problems facing the country.
Pastor Adeboye said this while speaking at the evening session of the 40th Holy Ghost Convention of The Sword of The Spirit Ministry, SOTSM (a.k.a Christ Life Church).
The convention, with the theme, ‘The King of Glory,’ was held at the International Conference Centre, University of Ibadan, Ibadan, on Sunday.
The revered cleric described God as the Ultimate King. He said the authority of the traditional kings or their position should not be undermined.
Adeboye said: “That is why in Yorubaland we call them Alase -those ones who rule by decree.
“Just like what Almighty God did in Genesis Chapter One Verse Three. And God said let there be light and immediately there was light.
“He [God] is the one who will do what He wants and nobody can query him. In Yorubaland we call the kings kabiyesi.
“The reason we have some of the problems we have in our country today is because they had tampered with the power of our kings.
“If we restore the dignity, the ability and glory of our kings, all will be well. Almighty God is the one who rules by decree and you cannot query Him.”
In his welcome address, Bishop Wale Oke, President, SOTSM, described the occasion as a landmark.
“It is a Convention with a difference. About 40 years ago, the maiden edition held in the City of Ibadan.
“Since then, it had become a platform of the move of God, providing believers of all denominations opportunities to be blessed, empowered and to enjoy rich fellowship.
“Countless souls have been saved. Many people have been healed. Many have been delivered and restored.
“Many have possessed their inheritances and entered into their glorious destinies. Our God shall do it again.”
Bishop Oke urged those who graced the occasion to be sensitive in the Holy Spirit and be prepared to move to a higher realm of glory.
He added that God would ignite a fresh wave of revival to bless and transform the nation and its people.
