Hon (Dr) Abike Dabiri-Erewa, Chairman/CEO, Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, (NiDCOM), today, paid a condolence visit to the bereaved family of the late Mr. Chibueze Momah at their Lagos residence.
The condolence visit was contained in a press release e-signed by Gabriel Odu of the Media, Public Relations and Protocols Unit of NIDCOM.
Dabiri-Erewa, who convey her sympathy and support for the family, prayed the Almighty God to give the family the strength to bear the irreparable loss of their son who only just graduated in Computer Programming a few months before his untimely death.
The father, Mr Ikechukwu Momah, on behalf of the family thanked the NiDCOM boss and her team for the prompt visit and pleaded for a thorough investigation into the matter.
It would be recalled that two Nigerians, identified as Tosin Amos-Arowoshegbe and Chibueze Momah, were shot dead at a club in Canada on 23 July, 2022.
Both victims worked at the ATL Lounge in Vaughn, Ontario as security guards, even as the suspected killers were said to have fled the scene of the incident before the police arrived.
The Canadian police, in a statement issued, said they are currently seeking information on a suspect linked to the shooting.
Meanwhile, the NIDCOM boss had earlier issued a strong statement condemning the killing of the two Nigerians, urging the Canadian authorities to fish out the killers.
Newscoven.ng recalled that another Nigerian, a physically-challenged street vendor, Ogochukwu Alika, was gruesomely murdered in Italy, late July.
Chairman/CEO of NiDCOM, Mrs Abike Dabiri-Erewa, in a recent video post via her Twitter handle, said Alika was allegedly beaten to death by an Italian man, using the clutches of the late physically-challenged Nigerian.
“The case of Alika Ogochukwu that was gruesomely murdered in Italy is a very pathetic one. Alika was a physically-challenged person that was beaten up just like that and the guy who beat him up to death used the crutches he was using to walk,” Mrs Dabiri-Erewa had said then.
