Former President Goodluck Jonathan has declared that the new Olubadan of Ibadanland, His Imperial Majesty Oba Dr Mohood Lekan Balogun Alli Okunmade II, is well prepared for the throne.
The former president stated this in his congratulatory message to the traditional ruler on his ascension to the throne as the 42nd Olubadan of Ibadanland.
Jonathan said the records of Oba Balogun, both as a senator and as the Otun Olubadan have prepared him for the position as the traditional ruler of the ancient city of Ibadanland.
He described the new Olubadan as a bridge-builder and distinguished patriot whose wealth of experience as an administrator and as a politician should be deployed for the development of Ibadanland and the country as a whole.

“I join your family, friends, great people of Ibadanland and other well-wishers to congratulate you on your emergence as the 42nd Olubadan of Ibadanland.
“Your Majesty, you are a well-respected leader, bridge-builder and distinguished patriot for which I consider your ascension to the throne as the new Olubadan well-deserving.
“Your impressive records, both as a senator and as the Otun Olubadan of Ibadanland, had prepared you for this position.
“I believe that you will deploy your considerable experience in administration and politics, as well as your enormous goodwill to enhance the momentum for peace, growth and development not only in the ancient Ibadanland, famed for its rich and diverse culture, but also in the entire nation.
“On behalf of my family, I wish the 42nd Olubadan a peaceful, momentous and long reign,” former President Goodluck Jonathan stated in the message.
