Akande Congratulates UI, LAUTECH On New Rankings
Chairman of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), Professor Adeolu Akande, has congratulated the management, staff and students of the University of Ibadan (UI) and Ladoke Akintola University (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso on their latest rankings
The Nigerian Universities Commission (NUC), in its latest rankings, rated the two institutions as the best Nigerian university and the best state university in Nigeria, respectively.
Akande, in a statement, commended the Vice-Chancellors, management team and the entire staff of the two higher institutions for their meticulous and unrelenting efforts in maintaining excellence.
“This latest ranking of UI and LAUTECH by the Nigerian Universities Commission as the best universities in Nigeria did not just come on a platter of gold.
“It is a result of painstaking collective efforts to sustain the visions of the founding fathers of the institutions. I enjoin you all to work harder to stay at the top,” he said.
Professor Akande, who himself is an alumnus of the University of Ibadan, also commended the alumni and friends of the university for their contributions to the growth of the university.
The NCC chairman noted and also commended the sense of community among the alumni of LAUTECH and prayed for its continuation in the institution.
“Now that the institution is solely owned by Oyo State, I urge the management to continue to raise the bar and ensure standards are maintained in the ivory tower,” the statement added.
