Folarin paid a courtesy visit to the former Minister of Power, on Tuesday, with their discussions reportedly focusing on party unity, reconciliation, grassroots mobilisation and strategies to improve the party’s fortunes in the state.
According to a statement by Folarin, both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to working with other APC stakeholders to reposition the party and secure victory for President Bola Tinubu and other party candidates in the 2027 elections.
The former Senate Leader stated that the meeting underscored the need for stronger party structures and sustained engagement with members and supporters across the 33 local government areas of the state.
“We reaffirmed our determination to work alongside other party leaders and stakeholders to revitalise APC structures, deepen reconciliation and strengthen grassroots engagement across the 33 local government areas of Oyo State,” the former Senate Leader added.
He further stated that his and Adelabu’s loyalty to the party and its leadership remained firm, stressing the importance of unity in achieving their political objectives.
“We are party men, and our commitment to President Tinubu, the unity of our great party and its collective success remains unwavering,” he stated.
The meeting came up as political parties and stakeholders began preparations for the 2027 general election.
This was as party cohesion, grassroots mobilisation and support for the respective candidates of the political parties expected to play significant roles in determining electoral outcomes.
However, it was not disclosed in the statement any specific resolutions reached at the meeting, and neither did it outline further details of the proposed strategies for strengthening the APC in Oyo State.
