We Should Always Appreciate Teachers-Ojo
A frontline governorship aspirant in Ekiti State, Mr Kayode Ojo, has described teachers as a great institution whose tireless efforts in providing education to all should always be appreciated.
He stated this in a message to congratulate teachers in the state on the occasion of the 2021 edition of the annual Teachers’ Day celebrations.
Ojo, a governorship hopeful on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), said it gives him an immense pleasure to celebrate teachers on occasion of their annual day.
“I refer to teachers as a great institution that one must pass through. Teachers are the one who spearhead the working mechanism and all other functions that make a nation.
“It is under their guidance that professors and mentors are appointed for imparting knowledge. As such, felicitating with the teachers on this day is appreciating their tireless effort in providing education to all students.
“We celebrate Teachers’ Day every year because we value you and deeply appreciate your contributions to the society and your genuine commitment to impacting knowledge in our children,” he said.
Ojo, a metallurgical and materials engineer further asserted that teaching is one of the noblest professions in the world.
He said he personally believe that there is no substitute to quality education because it helps in changing the lives of thousands of individuals and their families.
“More importantly, it is most critical to the growth of a developing state and nation. This is precisely the idea behind our tagline- we build a better nation through quality education,” he said.
The APC governorship aspirant further said: “The one person who is responsible for giving direction to the lives of thousands of students is YOU.
“Our Teachers’ Day celebrations are incomplete without recognising the most important mentor of our lives and that is YOU. We thank you for your unconditional support and teachings.
“To the unions, ASUSS and the Nigerian Union of Teachers (NUT), I salute your doggedness as you fight for the right of the teachers.
“I urge the government to put more effort to taking the welfare of teachers in the states as a priority just as they have been doing. When we make them happy, we make a great state and nation as the end result.
“I wish to take this opportunity to thank you for your invaluable contributions to the institution over the years. Once again, I would like to wish each one of you a Happy Teachers’ Day.
“May God bless you with the strength to achieve greater personal and professional growths in the years ahead.”
