Chief Ajibola Suraju Babatunde, a mogaji-designate, has congratulated the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Ladoja on the inauguration, on Thursday, of the Ibadan Community Guard.
The Ibadan Community Guard was established to strengthen community and grassroot security throughout the Ibadan and its environs.
The new security outfit would collaborate with other security agencies to ensure the protection of lives and property throughout the nooks and crannies of Ibadanland.
Chief Ajibola (a.k.a. ZurryMania of France) issued a statement at his Aliyu Oyabisehin Babakekere Family Compound, Oke Aare, Ibadan, congratulating the paramount ruler of Ibadanland.
He described the inauguration of the Ibadan Community Guard as the first in Oyo State and expressed his gratitude to Olubadan for his vision and mission for the 11 local government areas in Ibadan.
Ajibola noted that the vision and mission of the traditional ruler can be seen in terms of economic rejuvenation, resuscitation of moribund industries, promotion of agricultural practice, peaceful co-existence and efficient security.
The mogaji-designate called on all sons, daughters and residents of Ibadanland to join hands with Oba Ladoja to ensure safety of lives and property.
He also assured the Olubadan of his commitment to the unity, progress and development of the ancient city of Ibadan.
The mogaji-designate urged Ibadan indigenes, both at home and in the Diaspora, to continue praying for sound health, wisdom and longevity of life for Oba Ladoja in order “to have Ibadan of our dream.”
