The Board of Trustees and members of the 1925 Ibadan Tennis Club has congratulated the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Ladoja, Arusa I, on his ascension to the throne.
This was contained in a press release by the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Club, Princess Amb Abimbola Egbesakin-Williams, JP.
The President, Dr Oladipupo Sule and Executive Committee on behalf of members of the Board of Trustees and members of the Club, described Oba Ladoja as a true son of the soil, a leader of wisdom, and a custodian of Ibadan rich cultural heritage.
“Today, the President, Dr Oladipupo Sule and Executive Committee on behalf of the Members of the Board of Trustees and entire Members of 1925 Ibadan Tennis Club celebrate the ascension of His Imperial Majesty, Oba Rashidi Adewolu Akanmu Ladoja, Arusa 1, as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland.
“Oba Ladoja is a true son of the soil, a leader of wisdom, and a custodian of our rich cultural heritage.
“As the royal trumpets sound and the people rejoice, we offer our deepest prayers for a long and prosperous reign for Kabiyesi.
“May his crown never fall, may his steps be guided by wisdom, and may Ibadan flourish in peace and progress.
“Kabiyesi o, Oba wa, k’ade pe lori, ki bata pe lese, ki irukere di abawaye l’ọwọ yin,” 1925 Ibadan Tennis Club stated in the release to celebrate the new Olubadan.
The Club also prayed for Oba Ladoja to live long on the throne of his forefathers, adding that Ibadanland and Oyo State will continue to witness more developments during his reign.
“Kabiyesi, Imperial Majesty Oba Rashidi Ladoja, Arusa I, the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland, your reign brings peace, prosperity, and unity to Ibadan and beyond.
“Long live the Olubadan of Ibadanland. Long live Ibadanland. Long live Yorubaland. Long live 1925 Ibadan Tennis Club,” it was added in the release.
