The Ogbomoso Parapo Agbaye Home and Federal Joint Action Group has faulted the Soun of Ogbomosoland, Oba Ghandi Olaoye, over the dissolution of the group.
The group stated in a press statement, on Monday, that the traditional ruler, by dissolving the Ogbomoso Parapo, acted contrary to the provisions of its constitution.
The statement was signed by Comrade T. M. Balogun (National PRO, Egbe Omo Ogbomoso Parapo Agbaye), Alhaji Iliasu Jamiu and Mrs Akintoyinbo Janet O. acting Chairman and General Secretary, Egbe Omo Ogbomoso Parapo Agbaye, Home Zone, respectively.
The group noted that the written constitution of the Ogbomoso Parapo Agbaye clearly established the foundation of the organisation.

It added that the constitution recognised the Soun of Ogbomosoland as the Patron and all traditional rulers in the five local government areas of Ogbomosoland as Patrons of the organisation.
The group stated thus: “We extend warm greetings to all our revered monarchs and respectfully appeal to His Imperial Majesty, the Soun of Ogbomosoland Oba Ghandi Afolabi Olaoye, our spiritual leaders and scholars.
“It is important to note that the written constitution of Ogbomoso Parapo Agbaye clearly establishes the foundation of our organisation.
“With utmost respect to all our kabiyesis, the constitution recognises His Imperial Majesty, the Soun of Ogbomosoland as the Grand Patron and all royal majesties in all the five local government areas of Ogbomosoland as Patrons of the association.”
The group appealed indigenes of Ogbomosoland to remain calm, peaceful, and law-abiding, assuring that Ogbomoso Parapo remains committed to the unity, progress and development of Ogbomosoland.
“This statement is not in any way an act of disrespect to the throne of our highly revered Oba Ghandi Afolabi Olaoye, the Soun of Ogbomosoland who earlier announced the dissolution of the organisation.
“Rather, it is a clear explanation that Ogbomoso Parapo Agbaye is an independent organisation, established with its own constitution and therefore, no individual holds the monopoly of power to dissolve it.
“Furthermore, the dissolution is coming at the time of mourning of the demise of our National President, Hon Justice Afolabi Aremu Adeniran, (rtd).
“It is therefore ill-timed and against the spirit of “Omoluabi” that Ogbomosos are noted for.
“We once again appeal to all sons and daughters, home and in the diaspora to remain focused, united and active in ensuring the noble legacy of our founding fathers and mothers continue to endure for generations to come,” the group added in the statement.
