The Okewugbo (Omo Onile) Community of Ora Igbomina in Ifedayo Local Goverment Area has commended Osun State governor, Ademola Adeleke, over the rehabilitation of the Ora Igbomina Waterworks.
The community, headed by Chief (Prince) Stephen Ropo Bamigbolayin (Ologu of Okewugbo), gave the commendation in a letter dated 12 February, 2024.
The letter, titled “Re: Appreciation Letter Celebrating the Rehabilitation of Ora Igbomina Waterworks”, and addressed to Governor Adeleke, was signed by the secretary, Gabriel Olaoluwa Ogunniyi,
The Okewugbo (Omo Onile) Community further stated in the letter that the governor, by the gesture, has brought to its people life, vitality and health.
“Your Excellency, we, the Okewugbo (Omo Onile) Community of Ora Igbomina, Ifedayo LGA, headed by Chief (Prince) Stephen Ropo Bamigbolayin (Ologu of Okewugbo), wholeheartedly appreciate you.
“We appreciate you for bringing life, vitality and health to our community through the rehabilitation of the Ora Igbomina Waterworks!
“The rehabilitation of our waterworks has been a long-awaited and much-needed project. Its impact is monumental and truly a God-sent blessing.
“For decades, to no avail, we prayed and appealed to past administrators and leaders to support our community through this provision of clean, portable water. Your leadership and vision in prioritizing this project is lauded.
“Undoubtedly, your government’s rehabilitation initiative demonstrates its firm commitment to public health and environmental stewardship.
“By wholeheartedly investing greatly towards modernizing our water infrastructure, you have guaranteed the safeguard of our natural resources and protection of the well-being of both current and future generations,” it was stated in the letter.
The Okewugbo (Omo Onile) Community also saluted what it described as the governor’s foresight by approving the recruitment of 5,000 teachers and 250 education officers across the state, including the community,” it added.
The Okewugbo Community however pleaded with the governor for the establishment of a health centre and improved road infrastructure within the community.
“We trust that at the fore of your policies are project initiatives to address two critical needs within our community: establishment of a health centre and the improvement of our local road infrastructure,” it noted.
The health centre, it stated, would aid the provision of, and adequate access of the people of the community to wellness facilities, adding that it would greatly improve the well-being of the residents.
“With proper medical services available locally, community members will not need to commute long distances to access essential healthcare, especially during emergencies,” it added.
The Okewugbo Community also sought the assistance of the state government in provision of quality roads in the community.
It stated that “the condition of our local roads is a matter of urgent concern, as the current poor road infrastructure hinders transportation, economic growth, and access to essential services.
“Investing in the improvement of our roads would not only enhance connectivity within our community but also further stimulate economic development by facilitating the movement of goods and services.”
The Ologu of Okewugbo and the entire Okewugbo Community, once again, thanked Governor Adeleke for his “outstanding efforts in rehabilitating our waterworks and approving the statewide recruitment of 5,250 educators.
“Your dedication to serving the needs of our thriving community is remarkable. We are grateful, honoured and indebted to Your Excellency for your tireless commitment to making our region a hospitable place to live in.”
