27-yr-old Arraigned For Allegedly Defiling 15-yr-old Girl
For allegedly defiling a 15-year-old girl, an Ado-Ekiti Chief Magistrates’ Court, on Thursday, ordered the remand of Moses Samuel, 27-year-old, at the correctional centre in Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State.
The defendant, whose address was not provided, is being tried for alleged rape, as the police prosecutor, Inspector Oriyomi Akinwale, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on 28 November, in Ikere-Ekiti.
The police prosecutor said the alleged defiling of the 15-year-old girl is an that offence contravened Section 31 of the Child Right Laws of Ekiti State, 2012.
The prosecutor urged the court to remand the defendant in a correctional centre, pending legal advice from the office of the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP).
The plea of the defendant was not taken as the Chief Magistrate, Mr Michael Faola, ordered his remand at the correctional centre, pending issuance of legal advice and adjourned the case till 13 December, 2021 for mention.
