A member of the House of Representatives, Honourable Aderemi Oseni, has congratulated Senator Teslim Kolawole Folarin and Chief Jubril Dotun Sanusi on their elevations in the traditional chieftaincy hierarchy of Ibadanland.
The lawmaker representing Ibarapa East/Ido Federal Constituency and Chairman, House Committee on Federal Roads Maintenance Agency (FERMA), congratulated the duo in a statement on Friday by his media aide, Idowu Ayodele.
Oseni described the conferment of higher traditional titles on Folarin and Sanusi by the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Akinloye Owolabi Olakulehin, as “well-deserved and symbolic of their enduring commitment to societal advancement.”
Folarin, a former Senate Leader, is to be installed as the Aare-Alaasa Olubadan of Ibadanland, a promotion from his previous title of Ikolaba Olubadan.
In a similar vein, the paramount Ibadan traditional ruler conferred the prestigious title of Ajia Olubadan of Ibadanland on Sanusi, who was formerly Jagunmolu Olubadan of Ibadanland.
Describing both men as “illustrious ambassadors of Ibadanland,” the federal lawmaker praised their track records in public service, enterprise, and community development.
“Senator Folarin and Chief Sanusi are exemplary leaders who have continuously raised the bar in their respective fields. Their elevation by the revered Olubadan is a testament to their legacies of excellence and leadership,” the lawmaker said.
Honourable Oseni prayed for more wisdom, strength, and divine guidance for the newly elevated chiefs as they assumed greater traditional responsibilities.
“These elevations are not only personal honours but victories for Ibadanland and the entire Yoruba nation. May their reigns bring more peace, unity, and progress to our people,” he added.
