Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Akinloye Owolabi Olakulehin, Ige Olakulehin 1, has expressed his condolences to Oyo State governor, ‘Seyi Makinde, over the death of his eldest brother, Engineer Sunday Makinde.
The governor’s brother died in the early hours of last Friday at the age of 65.
Olubadan described the demise of the deceased as sad and unfortunate, noting that death is an inevitable end for all mortals
The first-class traditional ruler stated these in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Comrade Solomon Olugbemiga Ayoade.
The Olubadan stated in the statement that available information in the pubic domain revealed that the deceased was a humble and accomplished individual.
He added that the deceased contributed positively to Ibadanland, Oyo state and Nigeria in general.
“The Olubadan of Ibadanland is using this medium to sympathise with Governor ‘Seyi Makinde, his immediate and extended family members over the sudden death of his eldest brother, Engineer Sunday Makinde.
“Available information in the public domain revealed that Engineer Sunday Makinde contributed positively to the development of Ibadan, Oyo state and Nigeria as a whole.
“I therefore express my condolences the Governor urging him to take heart. It is always painful to loose a loved one but who are we to question God has done?
“It is my prayer that the gentle soul of the deceased will rest in perfect peace and God will grant the entire Makinde family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss,” the Olubadan added in the statement.
