Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Akinloye Owolabi Olakulehin, (Ige Olakulehin 1), has disclosed that he recognises and celebrates the service of Oba Rashidi Ladoja to Ibadan, Oyo State and Nigeria.
The paramount the Ibadan traditional ruler stated this in his congratulatory message to the Otun Olubadan, Oba Ladoja, on the occasion of his 80th birthday.
Olubadan, in a statement from the Palace, congratulated Oba Ladoja, declaring that he “celebrates Oba Ladoja and his achievements in his eight decades on earth and his contributions to Ibadanland, Oyo State and Nigeria.
The Olubadan expressed his unalloyed gratitude to God for sparing the life of Oba Ladoja to witness his 80th birthday celebration.
“On this landmark occasion and joyous celebration of 80 years, I recognise, celebrate and salute your service to Ibadanland and indeed Oyo State on behalf of the Olubadan-in-Council, the good people and residents of Ibadanland.
“You are a worthy son and ambassador of Ibadanland and we are proud of you and your noble achievements in your eight decades on earth.
“My prayer is that the Almighty God will give you many more years in good health and wealth to continue in service to humanity,” Oba Olakulehin stated in the statement.
The Olubadan also appreciated Oba Ladoja’s love for peace and unity in Ibadanland and his commitment to the promotion and preservation of the Ibadan cultural heritage.
Olubadan also used the occasion to call on traditional title holders, indigenes as well as residents of the ancient city to ensure the maintenance of peaceful co-existence for the development of Ibadanland in all sectors and areas of human endeavour.
