The Zonal Coordinator (Zone B), Assistant Comptroller General of Customs (ACG) Sambo Kaliel Dangaladima, has called for synergy between the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), traditional rulers and other stakeholders to curb insecurity in Kebbi State.
ACG Dangaladima made the call, on Friday, when he paid an official visit to Kebbi Area Command on his continuous tour of the Zone B axis.
This was contained in a press release by the NCS Public Relations Officers, Kebbi Area Command, Superintendent of Customs Mohammed Tajuddeen Salisu.
Addressing officers and men during parade, zonal coordinator commended the efforts of the Customs Area Controller and his officers on the stride they have achieved so far on the area of the NCS core mandate.
ACG Dangaladima however went further to emphasise the need to help in curbing security challenges facing Kebbi stressing that the leadership of the Service believes in its officers and men in Kebbi State.
Going further, he said a secured Kebbi State may be difficult to achieve without strengthening the relationship between the Command, sister agencies, stakeholders and traditional rulers.
Subsequently, Dangaladima held a closed-door meeting with stakeholders where he charged them to be compliant traders and urged them to abide by the Customs extant laws during cross-border trade.
The Assistant Comptroller General of Customs (Zone B) commissioned a five-aside football pitch and E-library/Learning Centre which were fully sponsored and built by the stakeholders.
The football pitch and E-library/Learning Centre were in line with the vision of the Comptroller General of Customs Bashir Adewale Adeniyi to encourage work-life balance and capacity-building.
The facilities were made a reality due to the cordial relationships the Kebbi Command has with the stakeholders, and which have been improving steadily.
ACG Dangaladima concluded the visit by paying homage to the Emir of Gwandu, Alhaji Muhammadu Iliyasu Bashar CFR, mni, to seek for his royal blessings.
