The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has introduced a new licensing framework for Application-to-person (A2P) communication services.
The A2P communication services initiative, according to the Commission is aimed at enhancing compliance with existing regulations and also strengthen the integrity of the telecom sector in Nigeria.
NCC Director of Public Affairs, Reuben Muoka, stated this in a release.
He announced that the A2P communication services framework is available for review on the Commission’s website and is also open for public comment.
“The NCC will host a virtual forum on December 20, 2024, to foster engagement and to discuss the A2P services framework with stakeholders.
“Interested parties are encouraged to review the document and submit their feedback by December 19, 2024, via email to aadaba@ncc.gov.ng and msyusuf@ncc.gov.ng.
“This framework reflects the Commission’s commitment to evolving industry needs, while upholding the provisions of the Nigerian Communications Act.
“Stakeholders are urged to participate actively in shaping the regulatory landscape for A2P services in Nigeria,” Mouka stated.
