Following the demise, yesterday, of the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemi III, a confidant of the traditional ruler, Chief Tunde Busari, has said his transition left him with tales of regret.
Busari, publisher of The Tabloid.net, said his last talk with Oba Adeyemi, 11 days ago, did not suggest that the end was near for the foremost traditional ruler.
Telling his story to Newscoven.ng, the journalist-cum writer said the late Alaafin had called to give him the update on a book he was helping him that read.
“He called me and asked about update on a book he asked me to read. I told him I wasn’t through and asked about his health because I suspected he was not that strong two days earlier I was with him in the Palace.
“Kabiyesi said he was better and gave me an update about the material. He ended the call and that was the end of our telephone conversation and encounter.
Reminiscing on his relationship with the late traditional ruler, Chief Busari, who is the Baaroyin of Itoriland, Ogun State, said, it was a privilege knowing the late Alaafin of Oyo.
“This death is regrettable beyond what a third person can imagine. But I am fulfilled that he gave me privilege to know him, study him and ask him questions.
Kabiyesi, Oba Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemo III, was a God-sent to me, in terms of his believe in me and many words of encouragement on my career,” Tunde Busari said.
