The Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC) has reaffirmed its unwavering dedication to providing exceptional service and continuous implementation of measures to enhance value across its franchised areas.
This was also as the company, again, denied the claim that it has sacked 3, 000 employees, declaring that the it was a deliberate and malicious information to tarnish its reputation.
IBEDC stated these in a release, on Tuesday, by its Coordinating Head, Corporate Services, Angela Olanrewaju.
It disclosed that, in line with its commitment service excellence, it is actively supporting efforts at the resolution of the ongoing issue of the third-party outsourcing (PIPLL) with the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Oyo State chapter.
IBEDC, in the release, expressed its appreciation to the Federal Ministry of Labour for its efforts in facilitating discussions among stakeholders.
The company also commended the professionalism demonstrated throughout the process of mediation, that the mediation is ongoing.
IBEDC however strongly refuted what it described as a false claim that it has terminated the appointment of 3,000 employees, repeatedly clarifying, “with verifiable facts”, that its total staff strength is approximately 2,500.
“The persistence of this misinformation suggests a deliberate and malicious attempt by certain media outlets to tarnish IBEDC’s reputation,” Angela Olanrewaju stated in the release.
The IBEDC Coordinating Head, Corporate Services further disclosed that, moving forward, the company will pursue legal action to address what she described as defamation.
“We appeal to the Oyo State chapter of the NLC to exercise patience while discussions is in progress and to refrain from picketing our offices or disrupting operations.
“Such actions would only impede our ability to provide uninterrupted power supply to businesses and residents of Oyo State and its environs,” the electricity distribution company added in the release.
