Yesterday (Monday), was like a carnival as Chief Jubril Dotun Sanusi, Jagunmolu Olubadan of Ibadanland, hosted and officially declared open a three-day seminar for artisans across Oyo State.
The impactful three-day event was part of his continuous efforts to empower local artisans by equipping them with modern skills and knowledge that will enhance their productivity and contributions to the socio-economic development of Oyo, known as the Pace-setter state.
The dedication of Chief Sanusi to the betterment of the community remains evident through initiatives like the three-day empowerment programme for the artisans, which focus on human capital development and capacity building.
During the seminar, the Oyo State Artisans Group, led by their president, Aare Yisau Kolayode, took the opportunity to pledge their total support for the governorship ambition of Chief Jubril Dotun Sanusi.
The declaration by Aare Kolayode was a reflection of the deep trust and confidence the artisans have in his vision for a prosperous Oyo State where local industries thrive and artisans play a pivotal role in its growth.
While Sanusi is yet to make known the platform of which political party he intended to realise his governorship ambition, it is a known fact that the well-known philanthropist and Chairman/CEO of Ilaji Hotels and Sports Resort is a leading figure in the race to the Oyo State Government House in 2027.
Mogaji (Asiwaju) Nurudeen Akinade, the guest lecturer, emphasised the critical role artisans play in the development of the community, noting their contributions to grassroots economic progress.
Mogaji Akinade further highlighted how the leadership of Chief Sanusi, if elected as governor, would prioritise the empowerment and growth of artisans by creating an enabling environment for them to succeed.
Chief Jubril Dotun Sanusi expressed his gratitude to the artisans for their support and reaffirmed his commitment to ensuring that the interests of the artisans remain a top priority under his leadership, when elected as governor.
Chief further said his vision is to foster an inclusive Oyo State where every hardworking citizen, especially the artisans, can thrive and contribute meaningfully to the development of the state.
