Three brothers from same family and one other person have been arrested by the police for allegedly robbing and dispossessing an agent of Premier Lotto of N90,000 and stealing okada.
The three suspected brothers, Hammed Jagbojagbo, Idris Jagbojagbo and Tobi Jagbojagbo, were arrested along with Tosin Ogundeko by operatives of the Ogun State Police Command.
Though based in Epe, Lagos State, the three brothers and their gang were alleged to have been carrying out series of robbery operations, using the Ijebu Ode Area of Ogun State as their operational base.
All the robbery suspects were said to have confessed to being serial robbers who are responsible for various motorcycle snatching operations in Ijebu Ode and its environs.
Ogun Police image-maker, SP Abimbola Oyeyemi, stated this in a release, AZ:5310/OGS/PRO/VOL.7/157.10/10/2022.
According the him, the Jagbojagbo brothers and Tosin Ogundeko were arrested following a distress call received at the Igbeba Divisional Headquarters.
SP Oyeyemi stated that the police were informed, through the call, that armed robbers have invaded the shop of a Premier Lotto agent at the Odi Olowo Area of Ijebu Ode and robbed the agent of #90, 000.
The Ogun Police image-maker also said the Jagbojagbo brothers and Tosin Ogundeko, along with another person still at large, also snatched a Bajaj motorcycle belonging to one Clement Conleth.
“Upon the distress call, the DPO Igbeba Division, CSP Musiliu Doga, quickly led his patrol team to the scene and gave the robbers a hot chase.
“The police patrol team succeeded in arresting one of them by name Tosin Ogundeko from whom the Bajaj motorcycle was recovered.
“The arrested Tosin Ogundeko subsequently led detectives to their hideout in Epe, Lagos State where the remaining three [the brothers] were apprehended, while one of them, simply identified as Tosin (a.k.a Socket), escaped.
“On interrogation, the suspects confessed been responsible for various motorcycle snatching operations in ijebu Ode and its environs.
“They confessed further that they are all based in Epe but chose Ijebu Ode as their area of operation.
“Recovered from them are one cut-to-size locally made gun and one Bajaj motorcycle,” Oyeyemi stated in the release.
The police image-maker stated that the state Commissioner of Police, Lanre Bankole, has ordered the immediate transfer of the three brothers and Ogundeko to the State Criminal Investigation Department for discreet investigation.
He also disclosed that the Commissioner of Police has also directed a massive manhunt for the fleeing member of the gang.
