For Dr Boboye Oyeyemi, a great, glorious and successful career has ended, after 34 years at FRSC and eight good years as the Corp Marshal.
Dr Boboye Olayemi Oyeyemi MFR, mni, NpoM, is one of the founding fathers of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC). It is an organisation that came into existence on 18 February, 1988 to eradicate road traffic crashes and create safe motoring environment on Nigeria highways.
In the quest to achieving this great vision, officers and men with great passion for road safety and safety of lives are needed.
In this direction, Dr Boboye Oyeyemi has that grace of identifying, nurturing, mentoring and utilising potentials to achieve the set organisational goals of the Corps.
It is on this account, for example, that John C. Maxwell says, “If you believe in others and give them a positive reputation to uphold, you can help them to become better than they think they are.”
My first personal contact with Dr Boboye Oyeyemi was during the presentation of certificates to the participants at a workshop organised in 2008 for Intelligence and Provost personnel of the Corps on Advanced Investigative Skills in Jos, Plateau State.
Immediately Dr Oyeyemi shook hands with me, my heart was glued to him for mentorship. When I got back to my base in Ilorin, Kwara State, I profiled him and I discovered we had quite a lot in common.
My intention for mentorship was made known to him and, without much ado, Dr Oyeyemi accepted me.
The hallmark of his mentorship to a young officer, enlisted into the elite Corps in 2007 are: he gives his solid backing for godly vision and correct in love by not making an act of mistake or error to override the existing good relationship;
Dr Boboye Oyeyemi encourages high work ethics, eagle eyes for details, great taste for excellence, professionalism and highly compassionate.
To every act of kindness, there must be a voice of thanksgiving. This day, my voice of gratitude is to God for constantly using you as a benevolence to God’s ministry – Ebute Yiyanju Prayer Mountain and my career in FRSC.
Certainly, “No one who achieves success does so without the help of others. The wise and confident acknowledge this help with gratitude.”
Just like yesterday! It has been 34 years of remarkable feats in FRSC, glory be to God in the highest. I join thousands of people to say, if I have 1000 tongues, it is not enough to praise God for His faithfulness.
“Each of us has cause to think with deep gratitude of those who have lighted the flame within us.” One thing that can never be too much is the expression of our gratitude to Almighty God for a glorious end to a great career that is second to none in FRSC.
Aptly, “The value of things is not in the time that they last, but in the intensity with which they occur. That is why there are unforgettable moments, inexplicable things and incomparable people” -Pessoa’s famous phrase.
Today, for Dr Boboye Olayemi Oyeyemi, a great, glorious and successful career has ended, after 34 years at FRSC and after eight good years as the Corp Marshal.
Dr Boboye Olayemi Oyeyemi is a tree that is planted along riverbank, with roots that reach deep into the waters and shall not see when heat comes but his leaf shall be ever green.
Dr Boboye Oyeyemi bears fruit every year and never worried by lack of rain. Hence, he that waters another person shall surely experience wetness.
May God’s merciful rain continually be upon you and future undertakings. Glory and honour shall never depart from you and your household.
As you take a glorious bow, after a great career, I hereby raise up my voice of thanksgiving to the Giver of Life on your behalf for preserving you and your household in the mighty name of Jesus.
Your dearly beloved son and mentee.
