Women Hurdles World Record Holder, Tobi Amusan, has declared her readiness to defend her title at the World Athletics Championship, holding in Budapest, Hungary.
This was as she said she has put the trauma of her trial behind her and will continue to be an advocate of clean sports.
She made the declaration in reaction to the clean bill of health given to her, on Thursday, by a panel of Disciplinary Tribunal set up by the Monaco-based Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU) over allegation of doping.
Tobi Amusan was provisionally suspended last July for allegedly missing three drug tests within 12 months.
The women hurdles record holder however claimed that she was innocent of the allegation, even as she then risked a two-year ban, if the charges were upheld.
The Disciplinary Tribunal reviewed the “Amusan Decision” and declared: “Amusan’s provisional suspension has now been lifted with immediate effect .”
This was after the panel “found that Tobi Amusan has not committed an Anti-Doping Rule Violation (ADRV) of three Whereabouts Failures within a 12-month period.”
Reacting to the decision of the panel, the sensational Nigerian queen of the track posted on her Facebook page: “El Roi !!! Halleluyah !!!!!!! THANK YOU DADDY.”
She stated that she was happy that she was found to be innocent of the allegation of whereabout rules.
Tobi Amusan, who is already in Budapest, preparatory to the Championship, said she had put the trauma of the trial.
She also maintained that she has always been free of doping and will continue to be a canvasser and an ally of clean sports.
“This morning I found out that the Independent Tribunal that heard my case has ruled that I did not violate the whereabouts rules.
“And as a result, I will not be sanctioned & none of my results will be precluded.
“I am thrilled to put this behind me, and I look forward to defending my title at next week’s World Championships.
“I generally have been & consistently will be an ally of CLEAN SPORT.
“To my Five Fingers; God is the greatest & I genuinely appreciate y’all for the support…,” Tobi Amusan wrote on her Facebook page.
