Oyo State governor, Engineer ‘Seyi Makinde, has been commended over the selection process of new appointees into his administration.
State President, Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE), Comrade Ayobami Adeogun, stated this in a statement congratulating the appointees.
The NULGE President stated that the selection process adopted by the governor was appropriate and highly commendable.
He congratulated the new appointees, including the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Professor Olanike Adeyemo.
Other new appointees included commissioners, permanent secretaries and the Accountant General.
Comrade Adeogun, in the statement which he personally signed, stated that all the new appointments cut across the state.
He said Makinde displayed high level of inclusiveness in the process of selecting the new appointees.
“His Excellency, Engineer. Seyi Makinde, has displayed high level of government of inclusiveness.
“This he did by appointing, at least, one commissioner from each of the federal constituencies of the state,” he stated.
Comrade Adeogun further said the unique selection process across the state will guarantee sense of belonging.
He added that it will further encourage the people of the state to continue their support for the governor.
He said it would also ensure the cooperation of the people with the second term of the governor, Omititun 2.0.
He specifically thanked the governor for reappointing Barrister Titilola, a labour leader, as Special Adviser on Labour Matters.
He stated that Makinde also did well by appointing Mr Akin Funmilayo as Commissioner for Lands, Housing and Urban Development.
He thanked the governor as well as for appointing Deacon Taiwo Adewale and Alhaji Kola Kazeem as permanent secretaries.
The four new appointees, Titilola-Sodo, Funmilayo, Adewale and Kazeem, are all from the Oyo State Local Government Service.
It would be recalled that all the new appointees were sworn into their new offices by Governor Makinde on Wednesday.
