Prepare To Bury Nigeria If Ortom Is Killed-Wike
Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike of Rivers State has declared that Nigerians should prepare to bury the country, if his counterpart in Benue State, Samuel Ortom, is killed.
This was as he said the Federal Government will be held responsible if the Benue State governor is assassinated.
Wike said this in his reaction to the reported attempt on Governor Ortom’s life, allegedly by 15 gunmen who trailed him to a river bank in Tyo Mu along Makurdi/Gboko Road in Makurdi Local Government Area of Benue State today.
Wike, in a statement by his media assistant, Kelvin Ebiri, stressed that country could be plunged into another civil war, if the Benue State governor is killed.
“If you kill Ortom, then be prepared to bury Nigeria. If anything happens to Governor Ortom, the Federal Government will be held responsible and they should be prepared that there will be no more Nigeria,” he added.
Governor Wike described as disturbing and worrisome the growing trend where the life of incumbent governors are brazenly threatened.
