Osun State governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, has taken the campaign of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the grassroots and nooks and crannies of the state, ahead the forthcoming elections.
The governor, as stated in a release by his spokesperson, Mallam Olawale Rasheed, today, embarked on campaign visitations to the four federal constituencies in the state.
During the campaign, he called on the people at the grassroots, especially eligible voters, to eschew violence and vote PDP candidates in all the electionsm
“From Ile Ife to Ijesaland, down to Ila Orangun, the governor addressed mammoth crowd of supporters.
“He listed reasons the people of Osun State should massively vote for candidates of the PDP on Saturday and subsequent elections,” Olawale stated in the release.
On the campaign trail of Governor Adeleke, according to his spokesperson, were the state deputy governor, Prince Kola Adewusi, Chief of Staff to the Governor, Hon Kazeem Akinleye and other top party leaders.
“Governor Adeleke told the crowd in the various federal constituencies that a vote for the PDP candidates is a vote for good governance and better life for the people of the state.
“Cast your votes for Atiku Abubakar and all our national assembly candidates. Vote for Senator Fadahunsi, Chief Olubiyi Fadeyi (Ajagunla) and all the House of Representatives candidates.
“Cast your votes for our House of Assembly members. A vote for them is a vote for good governance, accountability and listening leadership.
“A vote for Atiku Abubakar is a vote for new Nigeria, for true federalism, for economic restoration. A vote for PDP is a continuation of July 16th liberation from bad government.
“My people, extend Imole to reach all legislative candidates and our presidential candidate. I urge you to complete the task you started last year July by ensuring massive win for PDP on Saturday,” Adeleke stayed.
The governor handed over PDP flags to Senator Fadahunsi, Olubiyi Fadeyi (Ajagunla) and other PDP candidates in the constituencies.
He described Osun as a PDP state, affirming that his government is delivering on good governance that will expand under an Atiku presidency.
“I however call for peaceful polls. I have directed security agencies to arrest hoodlums and thugs. I directed them to comb and empty all identifiable hideouts.
“Our government has zero tolerance for violence. Election is about choice and this should be done under peaceful conditions”, the governor told the crowd in various towns.
Oyo PDP Caretaker Chairman, Dr Adekunle Akindele and Director General of Atiku/Okowa Presidential Campaign Council, Hon Sunday Bisi, also called on voters to mobilise and vote PDP.
According to them, such an action is “a continuation of political light spreading all over Nigeria.
The Osun PDP chairman said: “On Saturday, vote PDP from top to bottom. Our governor and his performance in office has shown how good a PDP government can be. A vote for PDP is the best choice, come Saturday.”
Hon Bisi described the election on Saturday as very crucial to the state and the country, adding that “a vote for PDP will put an end to the suffering and pains of our people.
“The suffering and hardship must come to an end. The only way is PDP. Vote Atiku Abubakar, Fadahunsi, Ajagunla and all our legislative candidates,” he urged the people.
