The management of The Polytechnic, Ibadan has lifted the suspension order slammed on the Students’ Union of the institution.
The management had, in a statement issued earlier today, suspended union activism and also postponed the First Examination of the institution, following a protest by its students.
The Registrar of the institution, Mrs Modupe Theresa, FNIM, gave an update on the incident in another press release.
She disclosed that the reversal of the suspension was based on interventions to allow for further consultations.
“The Management has decided not to use the big stick on the students as they have also sheath their sword.
“The Management will be holding meetings with the leadership of the students to address their perceived grievances,” she stated.
The Registrar however stated that the First Semester examination, scheduled to commence today, however, remained postponed.
“A new date for the commencement of the examination will be announced to the students through appropriate channels,” she added.
