The Church Of Pentecost, Awka, Anambra State, has honoured Senator Uche Ekwunife, PhD with an Award of Humanitarian Service.
The honour was conferred on the senator representing Anambra Central Senatorial District in celebration of the 12th Year Anniversary of the church.
The award was presented to the federal lawmaker by the Archbishop Province of the Niger and Bishop of Awka Diocese, His Grace Most Reverend Alexender Ibezim PhD, in company of his wife, Chioma Ibezim.
The award, the church noted, was in recognition of the selfless and continuous service and contributions of Senator Ekwunife to humanity, especially the downtrodden.
Bishop Ibezim extolled Senator Ekwunife for her humanitarian services in the society, especially in her senatorial district, Anambra Central.
The cleric urged and encouraged the senator to continue touching lives of the of people, noting that God always reward humanitarians abundantly.
Senator Ekwunife appreciated the Most Rev. Ibezim and the Anglican Church for their continuous support and prayers and pledged her unrelenting support to the Church, beign an Anglican by birth.
She also took time to solicit continuous prayers and support of the Church and its leadership, especially during the 2023 elections as she is seeking for a re-election on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Senator Ekwunife appealed to the congregation to always compare and contrast her performances as a senator with other contestants in the race for the Anambra Central Senatorial District.
The federal lawmaker said the people, especially registered voters to critical look at the antecedents of any politician before casting their votes for him or her.
She informed the Church that her projects, bills and motions on the floor of the Senate as well as her humanitarian services are unmatched.
She, therefore, said these and many more should form the basis for comparison and determination of how and who should be voted for in the 2023 elections.
