Foundation Donates Secretariat To IWADU
A non-governmental organisation (NGO), Ini Ememobong Foundation, has donated an office complex to Ibiono Ibom Welfare and Development Union (IWADU), Uyo Branch.
It would be recalled that the Foundation had earlier in the year donated a building housing the national headquarters of the socio-cultural organisation, named Udom Emmanuel IWADU House in Ibiono Ibom Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State.
The new building, which includes a meeting hall and office complex, located at Wellington Bassey Way near the Government House, was inaugurated by the Oku Ibom Ibibio, His Eminence Nteyin Solomon Daniel Etuk.
President of IWADU (Uyo branch), Mr Linus Akpan, in his reaction to the gesture, appreciated past presidents who showed commitment towards the completion of the project.
He applauded chairman of Ini Ememobong Foundation who is also the state Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Comrade Ini Ememobong, for his consistent support for the organisation and prayed God to continue to bless and lead him aright.
Handing over the office complex, Ini Ememobong, acknowledged that it would not have been made possible without God
Represented by the Chancellor of the Foundation, Ulap Bassey Esang, Ememobong thanked past leaders of IWADU for their commitment towards the project and also appreciated the people of Ibiono for the love and support they have shown him and promised not to let them down.
Inaugurating the complex, the Oku Ibom Ibibio, His Eminence Nteyin Solomon Daniel Etuk, commended Comrade Ememobong for always remembering his roots.
“I want to encourage the people of Ibiono Ibom to continue to give maximum support to their son who has done them proud,” he said and prayed for the chairman of the Foundation.
In their separate remarks, yhe President-General of the Organisation, Obong Dr. Effiong Inyang and the immediate past president (Uyo branch), Mr Godwin Okon, appreciated Governor Udom Emmanuel for giving an Ibiono Ibom son the opportunity to serve in his cabinet.
They both acknowledged that Ememobong’s appointment has culminated into the many benefits the organisation has enjoyed so far from the Governor Emmanuel administration.
