National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, has urged voters in Ekiti State to overwhelmingly support President Bola Tinubu and other APC candidates in the 2027 general election.
When Yilwatda lobbied Ekiti for Tinubu
He made the appeal during the APC presidential campaign rally, held in Ado-Ekiti, the state capital, in Thursday.
Yilwatda joined Vice President Kashim Shettima, members of the party’s National Working Committee, governors and other party leaders to present the party’s candidates to the electorate.
The APC national chairman, in a statement by his Special Adviser (Media and Information Strategy), Abimbola Tooki, expressed satisfaction with the turnout at the rally.
He described the enthusiastic reception at the event as an evidence of growing confidence in the party and its Renewed Hope Agenda.
He described Tinubu as a performer and reformer whose policies and development initiatives had demonstrated his commitment to repositioning the Nigerian economy and improving the country’s institutions.
Highlighting some of the administration’s achievements, Yilwatda pointed to the ongoing tax reforms, which he said were designed to protect low-income earners and small businesses from excessive taxation while creating a fairer tax system.
He also highlighted the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), describing it as an important intervention aimed at ensuring that financial difficulties do not prevent eligible students from accessing higher education.
He disclosed that the beneficiaries of the scheme were also receiving a monthly upkeep allowance of ₦20,000 to support their educational needs.
On infrastructure, Yilwatda cited major road projects in Ekiti State, including connections between Ado-Ekiti and Akure, as evidence of the Federal Government’s commitment to improving transportation and stimulating economic activities.
The APC chairman maintained that the administration’s development agenda was reflected in practical interventions, rather than policy declarations alone.
He Presented Tinubu to the electorate for another term, urging Ekiti voters to support the president, alongside APC candidates contesting National Assembly and state legislative seats.
He averred that electing APC candidates across different levels of government would strengthen the party’s ability to implement its programmes and sustain ongoing reforms.
Yilwatda described APC as Nigeria’s dominant political party, expressing confidence that its national structure and political strength would translate into electoral success in 2027.
He, therefore, called on party members and stakeholders in Ekiti State to remain united and intensify mobilisation ahead of the general elections.
The APC chairman expressed optimism that the Renewed Hope Agenda would deliver greater prosperity and meaningful development, urging Nigerians to renew their confidence in Tinubu and the ruling party.
