For approving the construction and rehabilitation of eight strategic road projects in the three senatorial districts of Oyo State, President Bola Tinubu has been assured of overwhelming votes in the state in 2027.
The All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in the state, Senator Sharafadeen Alli, have the assurance, while commending the president for the approval of the road projects.
Road projects and Oyo votes in 2027
Alli, in a statement he personally signed, described the approval as a historic intervention that would transform the state’s infrastructure, stimulate economic growth, enhance regional connectivity and improve the living standards of the people.
According to him, the approval, once again, demonstrated the president’s commitment to equitable development, national integration and the Renewed Hope Agenda.
He stated that the massive investment in critical road infrastructure was a clear testament that the state occupied a strategic place in the development agenda of the Federal Government.
The Oyo APC governorship candidate added that the projects would not only ease the movement of people and goods, but also boost agriculture, commerce, industrialisation and socio-economic development across the state and neighbouring states.
He listed the approved projects as dualisation of the Ilorin-Ogbomoso Road; dualisation of the old alignment Ijawaya-Federal Government College-Ilorin Road with a spur to Akinmorin; reconstruction of the Iseyin-Eruwa-Agbesi Road linking Oyo and Kwara states; and the reconstruction of the Ogbomoso-Oko-Illupu Road linking Oyo and Osun states.
Others, he added, included the construction of the 30-kilometre Idi-Araba-Ayede-Olodo Road; rehabilitation of the Igbeti Road; construction of the Igbeti-Soro-Kishi Road; as well as construction of the 13-kilometre Badeku-Jaiye Road.
Alli noted that the projects reflected the president’s readiness to address long-standing infrastructural deficits that had hindered the economic potential of many communities across the state.
He expressed profound appreciation to the president on behalf of the good people of Oyo State, saying the people would never forget the landmark gesture.
“The people of Oyo State are grateful to President Bola Tinubu for this unprecedented investment in our future.
“These projects will open up our rural communities, reduce travel time, create thousands of jobs, improve security, encourage investments and accelerate economic prosperity across the state.
“This singular approval has once again reaffirmed that President Tinubu is a leader who listens to the yearnings of the people and responds with bold and impactful actions,” he wrote.
The APC governorship candidate assured the president that the people of Oyo State would reciprocate the gesture by giving him and the APC overwhelming support in the 2027 general election.
“The greatest appreciation Oyo people can offer Mr President is to stand solidly behind him and reward his outstanding performance with massive votes in 2027.
“We shall mobilise our people across the length and breadth of Oyo State to ensure that President Tinubu records an unprecedented electoral victory as a mark of our gratitude for this exceptional demonstration of love and commitment to our state,” he added.
The APC governorship candidate urged residents of the state to continue to support the Tinubu administration, expressing confidence that more developmental projects would be attracted to Oyo through sustained collaboration with the Federal Government.
