In a dramatic twist of fate, trouble seems not yet over for popular blogger, Funke Ashekun, as her ally and a blogger, Aunty Adunni, has come to the open to reveal how Funke made her to lie against the General Overseer of the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM), Dr DK Olukoya and his church.
Aunty Adunni did not stop at that as she equally tender and unreserved apology to Dr Olukoya, vowing to become a witness against her erstwhile ally, Funke Ashekun, in the court of law.
She confessed that she had never met the man, neither has she ever spoken with him. She acknowledged he never offended her in any way and that it was wrong of her to use her platform to malign him like she had been doing.
The Woman, Aunty Adunni
For those who don’t know her, Aunty Adunni is a blogger who turned against the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye. She became vociferous in her criticism of RCCG in particular, believing that it was responsible for the sickness and eventual death of her husband who was a part-time pastor of the church until his demise.
Aunty Adunni took to the social media, alleged betrayal and deceit on the part of RCCG, and claiming that the church was complicity in the unfortunate death of her husband.
Embracing vendetta, Aunty Adunni has been waging war against unscrupulous men of God who she claimed deceive the public into believing they are genuine and anointed men of God. She has been calling out pastors and other men of God whose misconducts have been brought to her attention.
Her Link With Funke Ashekun, Olukoya
Appointing herself as a humanist, Aunty Adunni became a mouthpiece for desperate elements and avowed enemies of the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries, such as the disgraced Funke Ashekun and the convicted Maureen Badejo.
Aunty Adunni did not just become friends with these two ladies of questionable character who, out of pure greed, have vowed to pull down MFM and Dr. Olukoya, she also became their most trusted ally. She became a willing tool in their diabolic pursuit to destroy Olukoya and MFM.
Aunty Adunni used her platform to promote the malicious lies and defamatory allegations made by Funke Ashekun and Maureen Badejo against the General Overseer and MFM. She reported and amplified on her platform unverified lies and claims by former MFM members who were recruited and paid handsomely by Funke Ashekun to malign and destroy the reputation of Olukoya and MFM.
Her Shocking U-turn
However, in a move that has been described as surprising and shocking, the same Aunty Adunni went on her social media page, some 24 hours ago, to confess and tender an unreserved apology to Dr Olukoya for all the terrible things she said about him and MFM
Speaking in an audio that has since gone viral, Aunty Adunni said:
“I stand on the path of honesty and righteousness and doing things right. I have learnt new things, to do things better, to be careful. Like they say, be quick to listen but be slow to speak. Yes, I have known this for a long time. I watched things from afar and it took me a while, a long while, to allow this lady into my space.
“So, I am using this opportunity to apologise to Pastor DK. Olukoya, sincerely from my heart, in all honesty, on the path of humanity that I stand on….”
The popular social media personality went further; “Did I offend this man? Yes, I did. Did this man offend me? No, he did not. Have I ever met this man? No, I have never met him. Why did I allow my platform to be used? It wasn’t intentional and like I said, there is no excuse when it comes to the Law.
“So, I hope this video gets to Pastor Olukoya. Sir, I am so sorry that I allowed my platform to be used to propagate what I cannot verify. I am very sorry that, despite the fact that I was never part of your church, never saw any victim to speak to, nobody has ever come to me directly to say he did this or did that to them.
“I allowed my platform to be used to spread propaganda about you and about your church. I am sorry for whatever trauma and embarrassment this must have caused to you and to your ministry at large. And I hope this apology will be accepted. Sir, e da ri jimi (please, forgive me).
“I was new in the business of blogging and if you have never got into trouble in blogging, then you have not touched raw nerves; you have not done some strong cases. TV stations get sued, anchors of programmes get sued; so getting sued is part of talk show to make us do it better and get better in what we do. I have learnt a lot from this episode.”
In another part of same video, she went on to say: “So, when this story started, I started getting some information on this story. My instinct told me to back off. But I refused to back off and today, the rest, they say, is story.
“Not only story, a lot of people’s lives, families, have been messed up through this story while the person [Funke Ashekun] who is carrying the story around has her family intact. Other people she is dragging into it, both home and abroad, their families are in disarray. Some have lost their jobs in the process.
“And because I have experience of court cases in America here, America can lock you up, not only lock you up, you can lose your job. And once you lose your livelihood in America, we all know what that means.”
Aunty Adunni, A Friend Of Funke Ashekun Turned Foe
Speaking against her friend and ally, Funke Ashekun, Aunty Adunni proceeded to declare that she is ready to stand as a witness in the case between Funke, and Dr. Olukoya and testify against her in court.
“I am ready to stand face-to-face against you in court in America here! “I will tell the whole world how you have been recruiting people to lie against MFM. I am going to stand as a witness against you. Can you see that you have ruined yourself with your own hands? That your appeal is dead on arrival?
“I am saying it publicly; I am not hiding it, I am going to stand as a witness against you. I have not even spoken about you for up to three times, yet you have done more than 600 videos against that man. Every day, Olukoya, Olukoya! Now, you have spoken about just twice, you begin to shed tears!,” she said.
Justified Olukoya And Jubilant MFM Members
Seeing that the walls are already closing in on her allies, Funke Ashekun and Maureen Badejo, who is currently standing trial in Lagos after being released from Kirikiri Prison not long ago, Aunty Adunni has probably realised it is only a matter of time that the long arm of the Law will catch up with her as well.
Olukoya and MFM are yet to officially accept or reject the apology by Aunty Adunni. However, things are really turning out for better for Dr Olukoya and his MFM. While the campaign of calumny and mudslinging seem unabated, the man of God has been enjoying one significant victory or the other over his detractors.
A private man, Olukoya remains humble and quiet about his triumphs over those who, for absolutely no reason other than pure greed, took it upon themselves to try and destroy his ministry.
The camp of his detractors and those recruited to beat false witnesses against him has been plunged into a total disarray, while members and lovers of MFM are basking in unending jubilations.
The shocking apology by Aunty Adunni to Dr. Olukoya has become the most talked about subject currently on social media. However, not many saw this new development coming.
Here is a woman who has done everything within her power to destroy Dr Olukoya and his ministry. Many see this as God fighting for His own, while others simply believe Aunty Adunni can already see the hand writing on the wall.
