Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Ladoja, Arusa I, on Thursday, gave an assurance that there will be religious tolerance in Ibadanland.
Oba Ladoja told the people and resident of the Oyo State capital that there will not be any form of religious crisis in Ibadanland.
He said this when he received a delegate from the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), who paid a courtesy visit to the paramount ruler of Ibadanland at his palace, Oke-Aremo, Ibadan.
“There cannot be religious crisis in Ibadanland as there is no family compound without the adherents of the various religions particularly Christianity, Islam and African Traditional Religion.
“Any traditional ruler, including the Olubadan of Ibadanland, is the father of all religions and such a traditional ruler should preach harmony and religious tolerance among all religious faithfuls,’ Oba Ladoja said.
The first-class traditional ruler appreciated members of the RCCG delegate for the visit and enjoined them not to relent in their prayers for Ibadanland, Oyo State and Nigeria
Earlier in his speech, the General Overseer of RCCG, Pastor Adeboye, congratulated Oba Ladoja for his enthronement as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland.
Speaking through Pastor Sola Adeyeye, a member of the RCCG Board of Trustee and National Coordinator of Royal Fathers’ Fellowship, Pastor Adeboye pledged the spiritual support for peace, harmony and success throughout the reign of Oba Ladoja
The General Overseer later prayed for the longevity of life for the traditional ruler, members of the Olubadan In-Council, Ibadanland, Oyo State and the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Also present at the occasion were Oba Tajudeen Abimbola Ajibola, the Balogun of Ibadanland; Oba Kolawole Adegbola, Otun Balogun of Ibadanland; Oba John Olubunmi Isioye, Osi Balogun of Ibadanland; Oba Biodun Kola Daisi, Osi Olubadan of Ibadanland-designate;
Oba Amidu Ajibade, Asipa Olubadan of Ibadanland-Designate; Oba Akeem Mobolaji Adewoyin, Ekerin Balogun of Ibadanland; and Oba Muritala Adebayo Akande, Ekerin Olubadan of Ibadanland-designate.
