The Ibadan Discourse Group, in collaboration with Friends of Yemi Farounbi, will today, hold a lecture to celebrate media icon, Ambassador (Dr) Yemi Farounbi, on his 80th birthday.
Farounbi, a renowned statesman, seasoned broadcaster, administrator and mentor of several people in the media industry, turned 80 years old on 1 October, 2024.
The lecture, themed “The Future and Challenges of the Nigerian Nation,” will take place at the Law Hub Hall, opposite Iyaganku Roundabout, Ring Road, Ibadan. It is scheduled to commence at 11 a.m
Guest Speaker at the lecture is a former governor of Ekiti and a former minister, Dr. Kayode Fayemi (CON), while a former Minister of Education, Professor Tunde Adeniran, is the chairman of the event.
The lecture, which will be a discourse on the State of the Nation, would be a gathering of thought leaders and policymakers to deliberate on Nigeria’s pressing issues and the way forward.
The lecture is expected to be in sync with the yearnings and aspirations of the celebrant, Dr Farounbi, for a just and equitable society where every Nigerian will find and attain personal fulfilment and growth.
The Yemi Farounbi @80 lecture is open to all members of the public.
