Senator Sharafadeen Alli was, on Sunday, recognised as the Most Valuable, Outstanding and Performing Senator at the 14th Young Achievers Nigeria Awards.
Alli, represented by his media aide, Akeem Abas, received the award during an elaborate event held at Ibis Hotel, Lagos.
The senator representing Oyo South Senatorial District expressed gratitude for the prestigious award, attributing it to the collective commitment and hard work of his team as well as his constituents.
“This recognition is not just a testament to my efforts, but a reflection of the collective commitment and hard work of my team as well as the wonderful people of Oyo South whom I have the privilege to serve,” he said.
The lawmaker emphasised the importance of ensuring dividends of democracy for the constituents. He reiterated his commitment to excellence, transparency and accountability in public service.
Senator Alli commended the organisers for the honour and pledged to redouble his efforts in serving the community. He also advocated policies that can uplift and empower the people in his district.
“I am deeply honoured to receive this prestigious award of Most Valuable, Outstanding and Performing Senator of the Year.
“This accolade is a reminder of the immense responsibility we hold as public servants to strive for excellence, transparency and accountability in all our endeavours,” he said.
Alli called on Nigerians to unite to build a better Nigeria where the voices of the youth play a pivotal role in driving progress and prosperity.
He dedicated the award to his team, the people of Oyo South and the youth of Nigeria whose resilience, innovation, as well as determination, he said, inspired him.
Earlier, Mr. Ibrahim Adeduntan, the convener of the award, emphasised the significance of recognising individuals who have made notable contributions to society.
He said the importance of recognising and celebrating excellence was to inspire others to contribute positively to the society.
