A former deputy governor of Oyo State and a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Hazeem Gbolarumi, stated this in his congratulatory message to Atiku on the occasion of his 77th birthday.
He also said the PDP presidential candidate in the 2023 elections, by virtue of his conviction, drive and tenacity of purpose, would one day realise his dream of leading the country.
Gbolarumi, in the message contained in a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Olaniyi Stephen, described Atiku as a true pillar of democracy and urged him to keep on doing his best for the country’s democratic values.
He commended the elder statesman for his tremendous impact on the lives of people, irrespective of tribe, religion, social status or political affiliation.
He stated that Atiku is a detribalised Nigerian, adding that this manifested in his entrepreneurial drive and his outstanding contributions to job creation through his several investments across the country.
Gbolarumi lauded the Waziri Adamawa for his dexterity, sagacity and courage in pursuit of his dream of leading the country, in spite of several hurdles placed before him.
“Your Excellency, in the past 77 years, your family and, indeed, your political and business associates and admirers have a cause to be grateful to Almighty God for having granted you a life of great accomplishments and abiding fulfillment.
“You are, indeed a man of strong convictions. You are a pillar of democracy and you have, over the years, been in pursuit of ideals of democracy.
“You have been at the forefront of the fight for the sustenance of democracy. Your believe in the rule of law as one of the pillars of democracy is never in doubt.
“Sir, yours is a sincere and genuine desire to lead Nigeria into greater growth, to ensure more socio-economic development and prosperity for the country and its people.
“You are a truly detribalised Nigerian who have a genuine concern for the people, irrespective of their age, religion or ethnicity. This you have demonstrated in the employment opportunities you spread across the country.
“Given your strong convictions, desire and passion for the greatness of our dear country, I have no doubt that your dream to lead the country would, one day, become a reality.
“On behalf of my family and political associates across the country, I congratulate you on your 77th birthday and I pray that the Almighty God will never cease to bless you immensely.
“Sir, I wish you more strength, good health and abundance of God’s grace for the years ahead in service to our country and humanity,” Gbolarumi stated in the statement.
